Because of the health issues related to the coronavirus, we are cancelling Amber Township’s Annual Cleanup Day, set for May 2nd, 2020. Further updates may be posted at a later date.

Amber Township’s Annual Cleanup Day provides township residents with the opportunity to get rid of unwanted items that are normally prohibited from being disposed of with daily garbage.

Cleanup Day is held on the first Saturday in May, between the hours of 8:00 am and noon, at Amber Township Hall:

Please keep in mind the following guidelines when bringing your unwanted items to the township hall. Abiding by these guidelines will ensure that we can continue this annual event.

Cleanup Day Guidelines:

• You must be a resident of Amber Township to participate in the Annual Cleanup Day.
• You may only bring items during the designated hours of 8 am to 12 noon.
• Several types of items are prohibited:
  • Yard waste, such as leaves, tree limbs, sticks, grass, etc.
  • Appliances that contain Freon, such as refrigerators, air conditioners, and freezers
  • Commercial garbage (demolition materials, construction materials, etc)
  • Household garbage (daily trash)
  • Batteries
  • Tires
  • Oils, Paints, Chemicals
  • Propane Tanks

For tires, the Mason County Department of Public Works will periodically hold a tire cleanup day.  During this event, residents of Amber Township are permitted to bring four (4) unmounted automotive tires to the designated pickup location.  Since this event is not held every year, residents are typically notified by mail and/or through local media publications when the event will take place.
